about
Song was birthed sometime in Spring 2017.
I was going through a lot of rough, life-changing circumstances. Dealing with the process of losing loved ones, taking on new responsibilities, and dealing with the consequences of my poor choices. I wrote the song from the perspective of all my issues and envisioning a time where I was over the hardships.
We felt like this was the best song to take our first steps with.
lyrics
We’re blue in the face as we’re gasping for air
Imagining something that’s not really there
And we’re blue like the sounds that fill your ears
Note after note that will keep your mind here
Blue like the rivers that flow from your eyes
Exhausting your options and plans devised
And we’re blue like the feelings that harbor my brain
If I’m here any longer
We’ll all float away
Into another day
What else can I say
I feel lost and alone
I’ll sit and I’ll ponder upon my past
Moderate feelings I thought would last
And I’ll think of the people that I let down
Same expectations, they come back around
I’ll ponder forgiveness and ask if you’re real
I’ll give up hope and I’ll barter a deal
Oh I’ll swallow my pride before it’s too late
Shipwrecking sounds
And we’ll all float away
Into another day
I live in dismay
I feel cold with the end in sight
I’ll tell of the story of how I survived
The merciless beating of this life
Decisions made poor as luck is too
Reflecting and wasting on what’s in this room
In the color of the sky, the wind as it blew
It’s passing on by and sailing through you
The adventure of it all will widen your view
You’ll never know what comes out of the blue
And we’ll all float away
Into a sea of waves
The steps that you take
And we’ll all walk away
Onto a path we pave
What price will you pay
To feel whole and alive inside
